Indigenous Saskatchewan Women’s Environmental Water Advocacy Keepers

Founded by Denise McKenzie and Veronica Favel, ISKWEWAK brings together community, Indigenous knowledge, research, and advocacy to protect the Saskatchewan River Delta and the waters that sustain it.

The Saskatchewan River Delta is a living cultural and ecological landscape. Its waters provides a critical habitat for fish and wildlife, supports hundreds of thousands of migratory birds, stores vast amounts of carbon, and sustains Indigenous communities and ways of life. Protecting the Delta means protecting water, culture, biodiversity, and the wellbeing of all future generations.
